Information for parents Cedric the Seahorse

The author and illustrator, Jim and Miggie Wyllie, live and work in Suffolk England sharing a love of animals, nature and the sea. They sail the East Anglian estuaries in their traditional yacht, Wanda. The locations for the Cedric stories are based on these areas.

The Cedric books are designed to be easy for your children to read to themselves, and for younger children the illustrations bring the stories vividly to life. They will also help in the first years at school since the stories contain a large percentage of the high frequency words required by the National Literacy Strategy for Reception and Years 1 to 2.

Knowing how children latch onto storybook characters, we have created the art pool, an area for children to print out black and white line drawings of their favourite characters for colouring or painting at home. You will need a black and white printer connected to you PC for this. Of course there is nothing to stop you having a go yourself!
